Install Claude Code
Open Terminal
Terminal is a built-in app on your Mac that lets you run commands. You can find it by pressing Cmd + Space, typing Terminal, and pressing Enter.
Install Claude Code
Follow the official installation instructions for your operating system in the Claude Code docs.The docs will walk you through downloading and installing Claude Code on your machine.
Complete the setup
After the installation finishes, you may see setup notes in the terminal. Follow the instructions — copy any lines it tells you to run, paste them into the terminal, and press Enter.
Log in to Claude
Type
claude in your terminal and press Enter. It will prompt you to log in — you’ll be taken to a browser window to authorize with your Claude account.
